What is Australian Rotary Health?

Founded in 1981 to support research into Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), Australian Rotary Health has since provided close to $27 million worth of funds to medical research as a result of the kind donations of its supporters.

Since the year 2000, their focus has been improving the mental health of all Australians. Australian Rotary Health are presently Australia’s largest non-government funding body of mental illness research. Australian Rotary Health also assists Indigenous and rural communities through providing medical and nursing scholarships to students studying in the health care industry.

Hat Day is Australian Rotary Health’s first action and awareness day aimed at promoting the need for more research into mental illness and funding this research through donations. In its inaugural year, Hat Day 2011 raised over $100,000 that will contribute to new mental health research projects.
