Measuring Your Head Size

Every Akubra hat is made to last, and while it will adjust slightly to your head over time, choosing the right size ensures lasting comfort and a perfect fit.

Measuring your head for the right hat size is simple—just follow these three steps:

• Measure your head circumference - Wrap a dressmaker's tape around your head, positioning it approximately 12mm (1/2") above your ears.
• Ensure a level and firm fit – Keep the tape flat and snug, running it across your temples and just above your eyebrow ridges.
• Find your size – Compare your measurement to the size chart below to determine your hat size. If your measurement falls between sizes, choose the next size up for the best fit.

To ensure lasting comfort with your Akubra, keep these tips in mind:

• Expect slight shrinkage – The sheepskin inner band may shrink slightly over time, so a snug fit at first will not loosen with wear.
• Hat adapts to your shape – Over time, your Akubra will mold to your head for a personalised fit.
• Adjust for comfort – If the hat feels slightly loose initially, use hat fillers behind the inner band. These can be removed as the hat conforms to your head shape.

BELT SIZING

To ensure the perfect fit for your Akubra belt, we recommend selecting a size at least one size larger than your waist measurement. Begin by measuring around your high waist, using your belly button as a reference point if unsure where to measure. Choosing a larger size allows for a comfortable fit over trousers or jeans. For example, if your waist measures 36 inches, we suggest opting for a 38-inch belt for the best fit.
