If it feels a little loose at first, insert Hat Fillers behind the inner band. These can be removed later as the hat conforms to your shape. Your hat should feel secure enough to stay on in the wind, but never tight or uncomfortable.

Wrap the measuring tape (or string) around your head, positioning it just above your ears and about a finger’s width above your eyebrows. This is where your Akubra will naturally sit.

Make sure the tape is level all the way around and sits firmly, but not too tight. You want a comfortable fit, not a squeeze.

Start with a slightly larger fit. The leather inner band may shrink over time, so a firmer initial fit ensures lasting comfort. It won’t loosen with wear.
