Traveller vs Riverina

"The Traveller is a nice hat that my wife says looks “stylish”. It’s my “walking around hat” not my work hat which is a Riverina with a wider brim. The sizing is consistent between the two although the Riverina has a leather inside band and the Traveller a soft material band. The other difference between them is that I can wear the Traveller in the ute but the wider brim brim on the Riverina makes me take it off. Great functional hats."

This is my 3rd Akubra,

"This is my 3rd Akubra, I purchase the next size up deliberately and lightly packed out the inner band, it means I can pull the hat down low when it is windy, but where it higher for shade when it is sunny and hot. I chose a light colour to partly reflect the sun for holidays in the sun, and sprayed it with Scotchguard to hopefully help keep it clean, I have yet to try it out in the overhead locker on the airplane but it is much softer than my other rabit felt ones so I am hopeful- it doesn't look ostentatious so shouldn't attract unwanted attention overseas."

This hat will be around for a very long time!!

"As a proud owner of a perfect dome (ie bald is beautiful) my first order of business when I went down under was to find an Akubra. My head is narrow side to side and longer front to back. The salesperson helped me pick out a good Traveller Fern, that is crushable and fits well with some spacers on the side. She indicated as I wear it, the hat will mold to my head without the spacers. Low and behold, it did. The hat fits perfectly and always looks sharp. The rabbit material cleaned up easily after I hit the top of my head (er, hat) in a cave while in NZ. A little water and a slightly vigorous rub, the mud was completely gone. Love this brim"

Great first Akubra

"Got classic Black. Fits perfectly especially with the foam inserts which help if you want a tighter or looser fit. Materials and quality is excellent. Craftsmanship is beyond reproach. Keep the sun off your face which is good. First Akubra hat but won’t be my last. Like the Traveller is very versatile and can go from a bit more dressy to really casual. Highly recommended. Pricey side but you can’t put a price on quality and style. Will try a lighter colour next to balance out, but would say start with a black one as it goes with everything."

Its my second, I have

"Its my second, I have the rust too quite some years old. The deep crown really suits my head and it staid on in a howling gales on the weekend."

Love it

"Absolutely love my Akuba. You can tell the quality is well done, handmade and definately worth the money. The staff in the Sydney city store were very informative on how to choose my size, what to look for in style and sizing and how to care for the hat. They were patient with me trying to decide on a colour. I'm really happy with my choice and have worn it a few times and absolutely love it. It's timeless and I'm so glad I bought one."

Just a beautiful hat, been

"Just a beautiful hat, been wanting a Traveller for years."

Neil B. (5/5)

Excellent hat.

"Excellent hat. I own a substantial number of Akubra hats; various styles & models, with each their specific trimmings and finishing. Invariably though they are all of exceptional quality. Every individual face & body type has a specific hat that fits the personal look, taste the life-style of that individual. For me personally, the "Traveller" represents that "sweet-spot". The width of the brim is just right, it's a robust hat that I can wear with equal comfort in a country or city setting. And of course on travel. One of the best, if not the best of the Akubra's that I own. I couldn't be happier with it."
