Meet Madeline Curr
The Modern Cowgirl Beneath The Brim
Raised on cattle stations across Queensland, she’s the kind of cowgirl who can read a sky, shape a brim, and balance life between dirt roads and city lights. In her words?
“I wouldn’t be who I am today if I wasn’t a cowgirl.”
Bush Raised, City Made
Madeline’s story starts out where the fences run long and the work starts before sunrise.
“Being from the country is tough — it’s hard work. But I wouldn’t be where I am today if I wasn’t brought up the way I was. When I think about being a cowgirl, I think about love, family, and resilience.”
Despite growing up with horses, hats, and hard-earned lessons, there was a time she didn’t show that side proudly.
“At school, I used to be more reserved about it. Now that country’s getting cooler — I’m proud to be a cowgirl.”
Her Style: A BOOT in Both Worlds
With a mum from Sydney and a dad from the outback, Madeline was always destined to bridge two worlds — a little country, a little city.
“People used to call me Hannah Montana. I’ve always tried to make the best of both lives.”
Her fashion reflects it. Think: long dresses with cowboy boots, wide-legged pants with a tassel jacket, and an Akubra hat to crown it all.
“My new style trend is city/country chic. Everything I wear has a little cowgirl in it.”
Madeline didn’t just wear Akubra hats — she made them her own.
“The shape of a cowboy hat is the most important part of being a genuine cowgirl. My dad always said, the shape of your hat is the character of a man.”
