"For many years I’d wanted an Akubra hat. On my first trip to Australia last month, I missed out on getting one, or so I thought. As a Boeing 767 Captain for a major airline, I happened to to run across the Akubra booth/display in the Sydney airport on my way home. A gentleman named Gary was working the Akubra booth. After lots of back and forth of wanting the hat, but not wanting to spend the money and Gary answering what must have seemed like a thousand questions, I had my own Akubra hat! Ever since my purchase, I have been absolutely ecstatic. I LOVE my hat! I wear it everywhere. I am constantly getting compliments on it. My biggest reservation in buying it was that my wife would be upset at the amount of money I spent on it. I was right. She was very upset. She was very upset that I didn’t buy her one!
